This is a very pleasant route without any major slopes, joining Sóller with Fornalutx via the village of Binibassí. Subsequently, via the paths of Es Creuer and Monnáber, it enables us to reach Biniaraix; surrounded by its orange tree orchards we will again reach Binibassí and we will end the route again in Sóller.
We leave the Ca’s Curial Estate via the lavender path which goes to the square of Sóller, we open the crossing gates and go straight ahead until reaching an asphalted street; then we turn right and continue on our way until coming to a crossroads where the football pitch is located. We go left, walking parallel to the stream of Fornalutx until reaching the vicinities of some washing places near the bridge of Can Rave. At this point we will come across a crossroads and we must turn left. After a steep slope we run into a fork. We must choose the path on the right and go straight ahead, then ignoring the paths which appear on the left of Ses Marjades and after that of Sa Capelleta and the Balitxold road. Already near a stream, and on a sharp bend, we leave the path fit for vehicle to follow the cobbled path which rises slowly between orange trees and olive groves until reaching the village of Binibassí.
On the left of said village we keep going uphill on a cobbled path, passing via a water mill and leaving behind us a parapet, pines, holm oaks and a few olive trees until reaching a spot where we must turn right and pass another wall behind which a gentle descent starts.
From here onwards the path becomes ever more spectacular and passes a slight depression, with the silhouette of Penyal des Midgia in the distance,

whilst we can discern the cemetery of Fornalutx closer by. The lane becomes an asphalted path which between olive groves takes us to Fornalutx and from there to Plaza de Espanya which is situated near the parish church.
From here we now go on our way via the calle Major and that of Sa Font. We leave behind us the tower of Can Arbona (Town Hall) and we cross the Major stream via a bridge. After the first bend we come across a fence and, a few metres before it, on the right, the cobbled path starts called Es Creuer. This path allows us to gain height rapidly, thereby arriving at the Monnáberroadwhichwe have to follow downwards until reaching the little village of Biniaraix. We cross following calle Sant Josep, passing Plaza de la Concepció and going down Calle Sant Guillem until turning right via that of Santa Catalina. At the end of the latter we turn right, following the indications which lead us to cross the Biniaraix orchard to come out onto an asphalted path which leads us to the road joining Sóller with Fornalutx. The village of Binibassí comes into our eye line which we are heading for after going for around a hundred metres along the road in the direction of Sóller and turning right. From the village you can return to Sóller along the same path with which we started this excursion. |
